Searching the Library Catalog

Scholarly literary criticism is often compiled into books based on theory, author, or work. To find these works, search in the Trexler Library catalog using the Discovery search box. A tutorial on using this tool can be found here.

Quick tip: use the Advanced Search feature
The Advanced Search feature allows you to more easily search for literary criticism. To do this,

  1. Change the Search Index to Subject
  2. Enter the author you are researching, spelled last name, first name
  3. Repeat the steps in the next search lines to include titles of work, literary theories, or topics in your search.

Best Databases

Databases work similarly to our library catalog. Utilize Boolean operators to connect your search terms and Subject search fields to find criticism.
