Tip #3. Consult the APA Manual as the ultimate source for not only your format and citation questions, but writing style questions as well.. Chapter 3 in the Manual offers basic guidance on planning and writing the article. It offers suggestions on how to organize your thoughts, choose effective words, and more. Chapter 4, The Mechanics of Style, instructs readers on the nuts and bolts of style, including punctuation, spelling, capitalization, numbers, and more. The better you write the more professional and knowledgeable you sound!

Tip #5. Make an appointment with a librarian to review your references. See the home page for directions on all the ways to reach out to a librarian.
