Description of Major Research Paper
Students will develop, research, write, and present to the class, a significant paper on a homeland security topic accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation. The students will choose their topics with the approval of the instructor. Papers are expected to be no less than eighteen pages, APA format, excluding references. The scoring rubric for research papers is attached at the end of the syllabus. This assignment requires research beyond the assigned textbook. Students are required to do additional research through the DeSales Trexler Library system for their papers.
APA Guidelines
The application of the APA writing style shall be practical, functional, and appropriate to each academic level, with the primary purpose being the documentation (citation) of sources. DeSales University requires that students use the APA style for certain papers and projects. Students should always carefully read and follow assignment directions and review the associated grading rubric attached at the end of this syllabus.
