3D Printing @Trexler Library

This guide will provide information about 3D printing capabilities in Trexler as well as policies and procedures

What is 3D Printing

3D Printing is a process for making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, typically by laying down many successive thin layers of a material.

The MakerSpace on the second floor of Trexler Library adjacent to the Trexler Technology Center houses the university's first 3D printer, a Makerbot Replicator 2.

Some specifications on the printer:

Print bed dimensions: 11.2 in x 6.0 in x 6.1 in

Type of material: PLA (polylactic acid) which is a biodegradable material derived from starch.
File types accepted:  .stl, .thing. obj
